It all began when Lotte couldn't find any organic and natural cosmetics in her homeland - Latvia. She started experimenting with natural ingredients from recipes found in old pharmacy and cosmetic books. Her first successful product was a bar of organic soap. Her friends were so inspired by the soap and talked about how great it would be to produce natural and organic eco cosmetics - they set about forming the MÁDARA brand of eco cosmetics.

In November 2006 the MÁDARA brand produced 4 new products and in 1 year MÁDARA became the best sold skin care brand in Latvia and a national success story.

MÁDARA has gone from strength to strength and has won numerous awards for design and product and now produces certified eco cosmetics for your hair, body, face, lips and now a unique range of baby products.
