Primavera Co-operative in Italy
Agronatura was founded in 1986, after five years of trial and error cultivating organic medicinal herbs. The cooperative was founded with the goal of offering young people a chance to stay on family farms and produce premium, organic products based on respect for mankind, animals and the environment.
Originally, the cooperative included thirteen members working seven hectares of farmland. Today, thanks to long-term contracts with PRIMAVERA, Agronatura includes twenty-six members operating about 310 hectares of cropland stretching from the south of Piedmont to the provinces of Asti, Alessandria and Cuneo, and into Piedmont's mountainous region.
Agronatura's cooperative members provide PRIMAVERA with medicinal and aromatic plants including peppermint, fennel, chamomile, sage, lavender fine, rosemary and many others.
